No Sugar BBQ Sauce

1 cup tomato sauce
8 dates, pitted (soak if they are too hard)
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp yellow mustard
4 cloves garlic
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp soy sauce

optional: cumin, cinnamon, cayenne

mix and blend well
