Crockpot Beef Stew

serves 8-10

4 T olive oil
2 t minced garlic
1 kilo beef, in ubes
1/4 c flour (tossed with meat to coat)
10-15 small red potatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
2 c slice carrots
2 c sliced celery
1 c red wine
1 c water
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1 bay leaf
1/2 t dried thyme
1 t dried parsley
1/2 t allspice
mushrooms (optional)
2 t cornstarch
